Kaliméra.

It is 4:30 am (GMT +2) and I'm up.

My mind is active and, no matter how I tried, I couldn't sleep. It is also very hot - even though the air-con in the bedroom has been on all night,

It is still dark outside - however, you can still hear the neighbours sat outside talking.

I say neighbours, but a lot of these villas on the Levanda Hills estate are rented out to tourists - and being in the month we are, there are plenty of them.

The houses on Vrysoudian - that's the main road, which we are just up from, and which links the Paralimni-Kapparis roundabout with Penera, are valued at €3.5 million. That being the case, some of these are rented out for between €5-6,000 a week, so I can well understand people making sure that they enjoy themselves.

This morning I'm running the car up to the auto electricians to have an original FTO light and indicator stalk fitted. So, I have the walk back to look forward to!

Yesterday, we did nothing much bar have a few beers at the beach bar on Agia Trias, the sea being much calmer than it was the other day - with lifeguards having to be called into action over in Panera whereby some young kid got swept out into the sea.

They have red and yellow flags for a reason - and the yellow one was being flown all day.

You think because its hot and the sea looks calm in the bay, that you can float around on a lilo, but there's always a wind there that can take you out to sea.

When our Jamie was 11 or 12 years old he had this lightly-constructed float board which was made to look like a surfboard. The wind picked up and started taking it out to sea, and he was chasing it. And although he's always been a strong swimmer, Julie shouted for him to leave it. Within two minutes it had been blown out into the Mediterranean and totally out of view.

The same day a kid in nearby Protaras drowned doing the exact same thing.

I did a bit on The A's yesterday, but not as much as I should have.

Day 181

Gaynor Mellor: The Turquoise Jacket

Rendered at 2160p 4k, 16:9 Widescreen

(Above) A 19 second animation of Gaynor zipping up her jacket.

This was created using just two frames and a couple of transitions using the pro software.

The close up shot is decent enough, but the at-distance animation is poor.

I'm thinking that the turquoise against the white background is the problem as red or back would stand out much better.

Kaliméra.

I was up at 8:30 am (GMT +2).

The door is open, the air-con is on, and the sun is out.

Yesterday it was 41°c.

As I've said before, we go out in the sun, but certainly don't sunbathe. I cannot for the life of me just lay in the sun or understand anyone that does.

I try not to do boring.

Yesterday we did some shopping and filled the fridge; called up to see Fosis at his Coffee Shop; picked up an aluminum clothes line from Andri's Bazaar in Frenaros, and came back and had a few drinks at the beach bar on Agia Triada.

I also called in to see Nikos - the auto electrician about fitting the light switch and indicator stalk on the FTO. That gets fitted tomorrow.

I managed a couple of hours on Series 2 of The A's: Desk Wanker.

Opposite is a short animation of Jack Harrington.

Jack is a young inquisitive 13-year-old who comes into The A's at the end of Series 1.

In Series 2, he is seven years older and comes to London looking for Gaynor and Jenny... A very good scene as it is quite upsetting.

As for Jack - he is a very good character.

Day 180

Jack Harrington: The Faces

Rendered at 2160p 4k, 16:9 Widescreen

(Above) A very good 10 second animation of Jack Harrington in Cleethorpes.
